The Emergency Winter Shelter is open from January through March each winter. We provide those without overnight shelter a place to sleep and stay warm in local churches staffed primarily by volunteers. Efforts are made so that our guests can attend school, get to work and have access to resources for other services. During the remaining nine months of the year, we provide emergency overnight shelter for those in need with temporary shelter at a local motel.
All guests are referred by Kent County Department of Social Services and must remain drug and alcohol free during their stay in the shelter.
